Mariati Mohamad Tahir is Head of Leadership & Capability Development, Group Human Resource Management of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“PETRONAS”) a Malaysian National Oil Company. Mariati began her career with PETRONAS in 1996 and has invaluable experience in human resources at the Corporate and Business, particularly in the area of Industrial Relations and Leadership & Capability Development.  In 2005, Mariati was involved in a Corporate Strategy Study and was instrumental in rolling out the Intensified Employee  Performance Management for the Group. Mariati also spent 3 years in the Education & Learning Division, PETRONAS managing the PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme.

She received her LLM from National University of Malaysia.

Bernard Ongodia joined the Petroleum Exploration, Development and Production Department under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development in 2002 as a Geophysicist and in 2017 he was promoted to Acting Principal Geophysicist. He is also the current Head of the National Content Unit in Directorate of Petroleum, Project Coordinator-Skills for Oil and Gas (SOGA) project and a Member of the Governing Council, Uganda Technical College-Elgon. Bernard is in transition to become the first substantive Principal of Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba.

Bernard holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) majoring in Physics from Makerere University, Kampala (1996), Master of Science Degree in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom (2005) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Oil and Gas Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, United Kingdom (2015).  He also holds various diplomas and certificates in; Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Management, Environment and Petroleum Geoscience obtained from the various reputable institutions across the world.

Wan Muzani is the Head of Strategic Planning Division, PETRONAS Technical Training Sdn. Bhd. (INSTEP). He brought along his experiences in leading management of the industry, whilst his responsibility is to promote INSTEP and develop its learning packages to suit various clients in the upstream and downstream Industries.

Wan Muzani graduated from California State University, USA in chemical Engineering. He started his career as a process engineer with PETRONAS GAS Sdn. Bhd. and has been with PETRONAS for 28 years. He has held various management positions in the company as head of Project Engineering, Business Planning and Commercial Departments in PETRONAS subsidiary companies.

Prior to joining INSTEP, he was the General Manager for Technical Services Dept. at Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd, one of the leading LNG producers in the world.

Muzani loves to read, travel whilst appreciating others’ culture, enriching the journey with new perspectives in line with business unusual outlook.

HE Dr. Ahmad Alfahaid. He obtained his B.Sc. Degree from King Saud University Riyadh, M.Sc. Western Michigan University and Ph.D. Degree from Old Dominion University, USA in Mechanical Engineering. He has Formally worked as, General Manager of International Cooperation General Administration, General Manager of Projects & Maintenance at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Assistant of General Manager of development at Saudi Credit and Saving Bank, Deputy Minister for international labor affairs at the Ministry of Labor. In December 2015, HE Dr. Alfahaid appointed by a royal decree to became the Governor of Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) where he is leading the development of the TVET sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. HE Dr. Alfahaid is an Associate Member in The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), member of the strategy team in the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, member of the Saudi delegation at the International Labor Organization, and Board Member of the Executive Board of Labor and Social Affairs Ministries’ Council for GCC, Leading Saudi Labor Technical team for employment working group at G20 (2013,2014,2015). He has published more than 22 papers in several International Journals and Conferences.

Ian’s career in international oil & gas exploration, development and production included living & working in the UK, Canada, the Far East and North Africa before assuming the role of Vice President for Kurdistan at WesternZagros Resources, a Canadian exploration company based in Sulaimani, from 2010 to 2013.

Ian remained in Kurdistan, in a role for the Minister of Natural Resources, to design and implement plans to increase the number of Kurds working in the oil & gas industry, and more generally to design and drive local benefits initiatives.

Ian’s approach to localisation has been to lead and encourage oil & gas companies to build the competency of their local workforce rather than focus solely on localisation measurement. He is determined to create opportunities for motivated school leavers and qualified university graduates.

His local development role has extended into local enterprise and community development, and also involved significant capability development initiatives within the Ministry itself.

Dr. Waddah S. Ghanem Al Hashmi, Executive Director – EHSSQ & Corporate Affairs and Vice-Chairman, Dubai Centre of Carbon Excellence PJSC, UAE

Dr. Waddah S. Ghanem Al Hashmi graduated from the University of Wales College Cardiff, School of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Honors) in Environmental Engineering. Waddah Ghanem is currently the Executive Director of EHSSQ & Corporate Affairs at the ENOC Group in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In his capacity, Waddah is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of best practices and standards for EHS, Business Excellence & Quality, Sustainability, Security and Risk Management as well as Wellness and Social Affairs and advocates the continued improvement of the company’s EHSSQ culture through his leadership of the company’s EHSSQ regional team.

Waddah also oversees the Group’s Legal Affairs as well as the development and implementation of the ENOC Group Communication Strategy to support commercial growth and strategic positioning.  Waddah is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Director of Dubai Carbon in which ENOC Group is an active shareholder.  He is also the Chairman of the ENOC Wellness and Social Activities Program Committee for the ENOC Group. In addition, Waddah chairs and is a member of various organizational committees such as the Energy and Resource Management Technical Committee and the Marine EHS Committee.

Waddah holds two Diplomas in Environmental Management and Safety Management from the United Kingdom, an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the UAE University, an Executive MBA from University of Bradford in the UK. His Doctoral research focused on Corporate Governance and Leadership was also completed through the University of Bradford in the UK.
